Greetings, The California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) will hold in-person and virtual public forums to gather input on AT&T's proposals to remove its obligation to provide voice service in its service territories.
The CPUC recognizes the importance of public input in such matters and has scheduled public participation hearings to give AT&T customers and stakeholders an opportunity to voice their opinions. These hearings will provide a platform for individuals and organizations to express their concerns, share their experiences, and offer suggestions regarding AT&T's application to end its Carrier of Last Resort (COLR) obligations. The CPUC will take into consideration the input received during these hearings before making a decision on AT&T's application. This is an opportunity for the public to shape the outcome and influence the future of telecommunications services in California. Customers can share their concerns by attending one of the PPHs listed here or by submitting comments via the docket card on the CPUC website.
In addition, I wanted to inform you that there has been a change in our CPUC External Affairs Local Government and Community Outreach liaison map. San Francisco, San Mateo and Santa Clara counties have been added to my region. If you have questions or are interested in scheduling a meeting with me, please email me at [email protected].
Sincerely, Antoinette Siguenza Local Government and Community Liaison |

CPUC Starts Work to Establish Customer Energization Timelines
The California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) is taking steps to establish energization timelines for investor-owned utility (IOU) customers. In an effort to meet the State’s electrification goals and support the state’s growing housing and economy-wide needs, the CPUC has initiated a new proceeding, known as an Order Instituting Rulemaking (OIR), focused on customer energization.
