And this year, we’re all revving our engines for NCSL, Indy style.  With so many engagement opportunities, having the right toolkit to make the most of your time is critical. Quorum State is a key part of that toolkit. See how your team can utilize your Quorum account to maximize your impact at NCSL:

Ways You Can Use Quorum at NCSL This Year:

  • Log Your Interactions: If you haven’t already, download Quorum’s mobile app. Then, as you meet different legislators, log your conversations. Make sure to tag coworkers who own that region or issue and leave notes on follow-up from the conversation. You’ll be talking to dozens of legislators — tracking conversations on the go will ensure nothing slips through the cracks!
  • Look Up a Legislator’s Background: Know a legislator is in attendance but don’t know if they are the right target for your issue? Quickly pull up their profile on the go and find the bills they’ve sponsored on your issue, the dialogue they’ve shared on social media, and more. Or, make small talk easier by looking up their background.
  • Follow-Up After the Conference with Quorum Outbox: The best engagements at a conference don’t end when the agenda comes to a close. Use Quorum’s integrated email tool, Outbox, to send follow-ups to all the legislators you spoke with. Don’t worry about digging for business cards to find their email address or the staffer's name to schedule follow-up — find it all in Quorum’s database.
  • Report on the Impact of Your Conference Attendance: Attending a conference is an expense, and sometimes you’ll need to justify your attendance to leadership. Use your logged interactions to create a report and show your boss how many engagements you were able to have compared to a typical week.

Ideas for Next Year’s NCSL Summit

With the conference just days away, it might be too late for some more advanced strategies (or you may not have a Quorum subscription yet!). Here are some long-term strategies to consider for future conferences (and NCSL in 2024!)
  • Create Issue One-Pagers to Distribute to Legislators: Use Quorum to produce personalized deliverables at scale that show how your issue impacts a state legislator’s district. Bonus: Add Custom Data to your Quorum subscription to show maps of your facilities located in a given district.
  • Build a Visual Dashboard to Show at Your Booth: Build an interactive visual to display on a monitor at your booth that shows the legislation introduced in a given year, trends in dialogue on your issue, and the states leading the pack in creating change. Bonus: Consider Quorum Grassroots to show the number of advocates you have in given regions to visualize the volume of constituents that care about your issue.
  • Reach Out to Staff to Schedule a Conversation at the Event: Using Outbox, send an email to your target legislators to ask them if they’ll be at NCSL and if you can pre-schedule a time to discuss your issues.

Using Quorum at NCSL: Managing and Nurturing Your Legislator Relationships

The National Conference of State Legislature’s annual Legislative Summit is the nation’s largest gathering of state legislators. And this year, we’re all revving our engines for NCSL, Indy style.

With so many engagement opportunities, having the right toolkit to make the most of your time is critical. Quorum State is a key part of that toolkit.

See how your team can utilize your Quorum account to maximize your impact at NCSL:
