While the 118th Congress is only just beginning, a few medical professionals have been more vocal about medical-related issues than others. To uncover the most vocal doctors in congress, we used Quorum to scan social media posts, press releases, and floor statements made by legislators.
These doctors have mentioned the word
“healthcare” or
“health care” the most (but they still trail behind Sen. Jon Tester (D-MT), who has mentioned the terms 35 times this year):
- Rep. Larry Bucshon (R-IN-8) - 23
- Rep. Mike Burgess (R-TX-26) - 17
- Sen. Bill Cassidy (R-LA) - 14
- Rep. Kim Schrier (D-WA-8) - 7

Rep. Bucshon also topped the list when we searched for mentions of “
covid” or “
vaccine.” The majority of Rep. Bucshon’s comments come from floor statements opposing vaccination requirements for foreign travelers and health care workers.
